Google device users can switch streams between devices

Google device users can start moving streams from one device to another using a button in the interface or a voice command. The feature works with music from various apps and YouTube videos.

For example, users can move the stream of music if they have another Google speaker in another room, the search giant reports. This can be done, for example, by yelling ‘move the music to the living room speaker’ to Assistant. The other speaker then takes over the stream from the device that was playing it. It is also possible to have a group of speakers play the same music. The function works for audio with Pandora and Spotify, among others.

In terms of video, Google only supports its own YouTube service. Plus, it can only move between a Nest Hub Max and Chromecast-enabled TV. In addition, it can be moved not only via a voice command, but also via a button in the interface. The feature will be available from Tuesday, Google says.
