Google plans to unveil Project Euphonia at its I/O conference in May. With this project, Google hopes to give people with speech problems ‘their voice back’. Further details are still lacking.

The project is discussed during one of the sessions at I/O, 9To5Google discovered. During ‘Designing for Accessibility’, Google employee Michael Brenner will discuss how his company will help people who have problems speaking through software.

However, more details about Project Euphonia are not yet available. As a result, it is not yet known what the software help will look like. However, it is likely that this concerns an extension of the text-to-speech functionality that Google already offers, and that is also included in Google Translate and Google Assistant, for example.

Last year at its I/O conference, Google showed smart software for making phone calls, in which the software appeared to communicate with the person on the other end of the line in natural speech.
