Google closes 11 security vulnerabilities in Chrome for desktops
Google releases an update to its web browser on desktops to close 11 security vulnerabilities. Eight of the eleven vulnerabilities are rated as “high risk” by Google. The update will be available for Linux, Windows and Mac in the coming days.
Update 100.0.4896.88 for Google Chrome will be installed automatically by the browser over the next few weeks. Users can also get the update manually so that they are immediately up-to-date.
Google has not yet released any details about the vulnerabilities. Google will keep these details to itself until the majority of users have installed the update. However, the tech giant has disclosed who discovered the vulnerabilities. It was mainly external researchers who discovered the vulnerabilities in the browser.
Google has also awarded a number of discoveries, which can be read in the release notes. The rewards range between $1,000 and $6,000 for the high-risk leaks. The ten leaks discovered by third parties have the following CVE numbers: 2022-1305 through 2022-1314.
