Google Chrome shows memory usage more easily per tab

Google Chrome recently started showing users how much memory a specific tab is using. This can be done by hovering the cursor over a tab. This feature was already available for testing, but now appears to be widely available.

When hovering over tabs in the tab strip at the top of the browser, users are shown additional information about that tab in a block, such as an image of what’s on that site. Recently, ‘Memory usage’ appears at the bottom of the screen, with information about how much memory a tab uses.

This feature has been tested in the stable Chrome browser since early October, but users still had to activate a flag for it. 9to5Google notes that this is no longer necessary for most users and that the feature appears to have been widely released. Users could already see how much memory tabs were using in the browser’s task manager, but the new feature makes it easier and faster for users to see how much memory specific tabs are using.
