Google announced an iPhone and iPad version of its Chrome browser at its I/O conference. The two apps look identical in appearance to the Android variants and can be synced with Google’s desktop browser.

The iOS version of Google’s browser has many of the features of the desktop and Android variants. By logging in with a Google account, various information is synchronized such as open tabs, browsing history and saved passwords. Incognito mode is also available in the iOS versions.

The browser will most likely work with Safari’s render engine, as Apple doesn’t allow developers to use other browser engines. However, Google didn’t say anything about this during the presentation. The browser works on devices running iOS version 4.3 or higher. In addition to Chrome, Google is also coming with a Google Drive app for iOS. Both Chrome and Drive should be available on the App Store by Friday.
