Google Assistant can turn lights on and off at certain times
The Google Assistant has been given the option to turn lights on and off at specific times or with specific triggers, such as sunrise or sunset. Until now, the digital assistant could only turn lights on or off immediately.
The feature is described on a Google site, noted a redditor. With the new function it is possible to specify, at least in English, a time when the lights should be on or off. Until now, that was not possible with the digital assistant.
There are still some limitations to the function, Android Police notes. For example, Assistant does not continue to ask if a user says that lights should be on ‘tomorrow’, so it does not happen because no time has been stated. Also, canceling the commands is not yet possible, while it should be possible. Commands can be given up to seven days in advance.
