Google adds syncing dictionaries to keyboard on Android
Google has added an option to its dictionary on Android phones to sync dictionaries between devices. This allows the software to exchange words that a user has added themselves between devices.
Syncing can be turned on or off by users via a slider in the settings, Android Police noted. With the option, the software exchanges personal dictionaries between devices. For example, if you add a word yourself on your smartphone, you can get that word as an option for autocorrect on your tablet.
The feature works with Google’s own keyboard, which is standard on Nexus devices and which users of other devices can download from the Play Store. The feature is not new. For example, the popular alternative keyboard Swiftkey has had that option for several years now.
Options have also disappeared. For example, users can no longer set how aggressive the keyboard is with autocorrect, it is only on or off. The installation file for the update can be found at APKMirror.
