Google adds night mode to Play Books app
After an update, users of the Google Play Books app can enjoy a new mode that filters blue light while reading. This would make it more pleasant to read at night or in low light situations.
Google says that its statistics show that readers often read between eight and ten in the evening. The company would therefore have decided to introduce the night mode. Android and iOS will be able to use this feature in the Google Play Books app after the update, which will be available to download from the various app stores. At the time of writing, the new version is not yet available.
Night mode can be activated in the new version of the app by tapping the top of the page and selecting the option via the A icon. After the update, a notification about the new mode will also appear. Once activated, the mode filters out the blue light emitted by the screen, changing the color of the screen. This would make it less tiring to read in low light. The app then automatically adjusts the hue of the screen according to the time of day. The function also works when using the black background.
