Google has acquired development studio Owlchemy Labs. That is the creator of vr games Job Simulator and Rick & Morty Virtual Rick-ality. Google will use the studio to make VR games and VR experiences, including for its Daydream platform.

Google says it wants to create high-quality interactive VR experiences, and Owlchemy Labs’ expertise can help. It is not known what amount Google will pay for the acquisition of the development studio. Following the acquisition, the studio will also continue to release games for platforms such as the Oculus Touch, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR. That writes Owlchemy Labs in a message about the acquisition.

The studio continues to focus on games that make extensive use of both-handed interaction in virtual reality. Google’s current VR platform, Daydream, is not suitable for this, because it works with one controller. However, there are various rumors about new vr or ar products from Google. At the beginning of this year, Google hired the designer of the HTC Vive.

Job Simulator was released in April last year. The game was released for the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR. The studio’s latest game is Rick & Morty Virtual Rick-ality, which came out last month for the Vive and Rift. Previously, the studio made games for iOS and Android, including Smuggle Truck and Jack Lumber.
