GOG game client Galaxy 2.0 will be available in open beta
GOG has made its Galaxy Launcher 2.0 available in open beta. GOG Galaxy 2.0 allows gamers to see games and friends from different platforms together and add friends. Epic, Origin, PSN, Steam and Uplay are supported out-of-the-box.
The Galaxy Launcher 2.0 has been available for some time, but only as a closed beta. GOG, which is part of CD Projekt Red, has now made the service available to everyone. The company asks players for feedback through an in-app hub or through the company’s social media or forum.
GOG Galaxy 2.0 is a “lightweight” client that allows players to collect games from different platforms. According to GOG, there are currently integrations with twenty such platforms, although the company does not list which platforms exactly. A video shows at least the Epic Store and Xbox. Last summer it was already announced that Microsoft was coming to the platform with the Xbox Game Pass. The closed beta also got a new look where all games could be seen in one screen, but users can also create lists with their games with the open beta.
It is also possible to add friends from different platforms on the platform. They can then be seen in one list, including their progress, achievements and the games they play. GOG says that throughout the platform, “user privacy is taken into account” and data is not shared with third parties. The beta can be downloaded from the GOG website.
