Gmail displays addresses and phone numbers as links after update

Google has made an update to Gmail so that the service now displays text in messages as links in certain cases. This concerns, for example, addresses and telephone numbers.

Google writes that the changes apply to the web version of its email service and to the apps on Android and iOS. Until now, according to the company, people had to manually copy information such as telephone numbers, for example if they wanted to contact the owner of the number directly from an email.

With the changes, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses appear as links. For example, clicking on an address opens Google Maps. On a smartphone, tapping a phone number triggers a call. The new feature should be available to all users within three days.
