Gmail app for iOS gets option to group emails from multiple inboxes
The iOS version of the Gmail app will have an ‘All Inboxes’ option, which will allow users to view emails from different accounts grouped together. The option has been present in the Android version for years, but was still missing from the iOS app.
Google reports on its G Suite blog that the iOS version of Gmail will be given the option. In the coming weeks, users will see the All Inboxes option. In the Android version, that option has been present since 2015; why the feature is only now coming to iOS isn’t clear.
The option is intended for users who have multiple email addresses and want to read them all in Gmail. That was already possible with iOS, but only with separate inboxes. To view emails, users always had to go to the appropriate inbox in the app.
