GitHub Releases iOS App Beta and Promises Android Version
Microsoft subsidiary GitHub has released a beta of an app for iOS. In addition, there will be an Android version, the site says. Not all features of the site will be included in the app, but users can discuss feedback and review code.
It is also possible to approve changes and merge with the code, as can be seen in screenshots. The functions remain limited to adapt GitHub to the smaller screen size of a smartphone. Users can sign up for the beta, which is already available for iOS and will follow for Android, GitHub said. It is not yet known when the stable version of the apps will follow. Also, there isn’t a full list of features that will and won’t work in the service’s apps.
In addition, GitHub is announcing a refresh of notifications. GitHub gets an inbox of notifications on the site and in the app. This means that the mailbox of users must remain emptier than it is now. GitHub made the announcements at its own Universe event, which takes place Wednesday and Thursday in San Francisco.
