GitHub releases beta of Android app
GitHub, a part of Microsoft, has released a beta mobile app for Android. The company already did that for iOS in November last year. Users can use the app for things like giving feedback or checking code.
As with the iOS app beta, the Android version can also be used to collaborate with others, approve changes, and merge them with the code. There is support for a dark mode and the app can be used by users running Android version 5.1 or higher on their phone. It is unknown when the final, stable versions of the apps for iOS and Android will be released.
Not everyone can start testing the beta version of the app on Android right now. Only those who previously signed up for a waiting list have access, via a now obtained email invitation, GitHub writes. Other interested parties can still register to be eligible for a limited, unspecified number of invitations. There will be more gradually.
