GitHub is experiencing outages Monday morning due to issues with a storage system. The issues started Sunday night but continued even after migrating storage systems to restore access to GitHub.com.

GitHub.com experienced downtime on Sunday evening, after which the cause was found to be problems with a storage system. Over the next few hours, GitHub attempted to migrate the storage system and restore the system, according to notifications on the service’s status page. In the morning, the service announced that the repair is expected to be completed within hours.

The issues resulted in developers worldwide having trouble accessing the site. It also seems that the service was temporarily running an older backup because, among other things, report on Twitter developers that they were served outdated files and pushes failed.

In June, Microsoft announced its intention to acquire GitHub for $7.5 billion.
