Gigabyte has shown a new type in its mini PC series Brix at CeBIT in Hanover. The model is referred to as Brix Skylake UHD and has a different appearance than its well-known predecessors. The aluminum housing is twice as high as it is wide and deep, namely 22 centimeters.

The housing measures 11 by 11 centimeters at the foot and has a sloping surface over the entire length where the various connections and the power switch are located. This panel also contains a network connection, the connection for the power supply, a displayport, a mini-displayport and HDMI connection. In addition to the audio connections, there are also three USB 3.0 ports and two USB 3.1 ports, one of which is a type c.

Inside, Gigabyte offers an undisclosed Intel Skylake processor whose integrated Intel HD 520 card doesn’t have to do the graphics math, as it houses an Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M mxm module. The whole also offers space for a maximum of two DDR4 memory banks at 2133MHz. Storage memory gets its information through an m.2 slot. The third m.2 slot is for the WiFi and Bluetooth module.

With the GTX 950M, the Brix should be able to send out UHD resolution without any problems according to Gigabyte. The company has indicated to Computerbase that the mxm module can also be returned, so that there is room for other modules, such as extra storage. It is not yet known what the mini PC will cost.
