Gigabyte is launching a model of its Brix minicomputers equipped with a processor from Intel’s new Braswell line. The GB-BACE-3000 has an Intel Celeron N3000 on board and there is a chance that the minicomputer will be fanless because of the TDP of 4 Watt.

The news comes from unofficial documentation from Gigabyte that Fanless Tech has managed to get their hands on. The 14nm Braswell chips are the successor to the Bay Trail-D socs, which are produced at 22nm. The extra-efficient chips are intended for low-end desktops and mobile devices. The N3000 is a dual-core with a clock speed of 1.04GHz, a burst frequency of 2.08GHz and a TDP of 4 Watts. The mini computer has support for WiFi-ac and Bluetooth 4.0, and there are four USB 3.0 ports. The video output is via VGA or HDMI.

Furthermore, the GB-BACE-3000 has a housing of 56.1 by 107.6 by 114.4 millimeters and there is room on board for 1 memory module of up to 8GB with a speed of 1600MHz. Finally, there is room for one 2.5″ drive with a sata600 connection. It is not yet known whether and when the Gigabyte minicomputer will be available in the Benelux. Nothing is known about the price yet. The Bay Trail -M counterpart of the GB-BACE-3000, the GB-BXBT-2807, costs about 140 euros on average in the Pricewatch.
