Gigabyte Introduces RX Vega 64 Graphics Card With Custom Design
Gigabyte has announced its Radeon RX Vega 64 Gaming OC graphics card with WindForce 2x cooler. The card has a custom PCB, a heatsink with heatpipes, and two 100mm fans. There is also a backplate with its own heatpipe on the card.
Gigabyte has put all the details about the video card on its website. For now, only an RX Vega 64 variant can be seen, but according to TechPowerUp there will also be an RX Vega 56 with the same design. According to Gigabyte’s description, the modified RX Vega video card has a 12+1 phase design and is suitable for significant overclocking. The manufacturer clocks the GPU at 1276MHz with a boost of 1560MHz. That is slightly higher than the reference speeds of 1247MHz and 1546MHz.
The WindForce 2X cooler that Gigabyte puts on the Gaming OC version of the RX Vega card has heat pipes that are in direct contact with the GPU. At the back of the GPU is also a copper plate, for which a recess has been made in the backplate. There is also an extra heatpipe at the back, which is in contact with the backplate and should ensure the cooling of the components around the GPU.
Two eight-pin connectors power the custom RX Vega card. At the back are three HDMI 2.0 and three Displayport 1.4 connections. Gigabyte has not yet announced when the custom Vega card will be available and what it will cost.
Meanwhile, a number of RX Vega custom design graphics cards have been announced by various manufacturers, but they are not yet on sale. The cards will probably be released in December. The custom versions are a long time coming; the reference models were already released in August.
