Gigabyte equips 20mm thick laptop with GTX 970M

Gigabyte has introduced a new gaming laptop on the Computex, the Aero 14. The laptop carries an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M and an Intel Core i7 of the Skylake generation.

More precisely, it is an Intel Core i7-6700HQ with a maximum speed of 3.5GHz, along with its own HD Graphics 530. There are two options when it comes to the GeForce card: a version with a GTX 970M with 3GB memory or a GTX 965M with 2GB. All this drives a 14″ screen with 2560×1440 pixels.

In total, the laptop can hold a maximum of 32GB DDR4 RAM, divided into 2 slots, and the motherboard has two M2 SSD slots with a PCI-E 3.0 interface. Other storage or all kinds of equipment can be connected via three USB 3.0 connections or one type-c USB 3.1 connection. Furthermore, the laptop has an HDMI 2.0 port, mini display port, a combined audio in and out mini jack input and an SD card reader.

The keyboard has programmable macro keys and a backlight that automatically responds to the ambient light. The whole is cast in an aluminum housing and comes in three colours: black, orange or green.

Gigabyte promises a maximum battery life of 10 hours with a battery capacity of 94.24Wh. This brings the weight of the 33.5 by 25 by 1.99 centimeters laptop to 1.89 kilograms. It is not yet known what the whole will cost in the various configurations.
