Germany agitates against ‘dumping prices’ Chinese solar panels
The German Ministry of the Environment is not happy with the ‘dumping prices’ charged by Chinese solar panel makers. The government would consider taking ‘anti-dump’ measures to prevent German manufacturers from going bankrupt.
According to Reuters want to German Environment Minister Peter Altmaier are doing more to ensure that German solar panel manufacturers can compete in the market. Among other things, he would consider introducing import duties to raise the prices of Chinese panels.
German producers complain in particular about the Chinese government, which would support companies in the sale of their solar panels. The Chinese government would financially compensate for the loss suffered by manufacturers. This allows the Chinese to continue to sell their panels at ‘dump prices’, according to the Germans. Several German manufacturers would consider approaching the EU to take measures against Chinese makers of solar panels.
