German provider offers Asus laptop with Snapdragon soc with 4g subscription
The German provider 1&1 has started offering the Asus NovaGo laptop, a Windows laptop with ARM soc. It is known for the first time that a provider publishes prices of its subscriptions for a laptop with Snapdragon-soc.
The German provider asks one-time EUR 349.99 for the NovaGo, where the normal suggested retail price is EUR 699. In addition, customers are locked into a two-year subscription. The cheapest subscription includes a data bundle of 2GB and a data rate of 50Mbit/s. The subscription costs an average of 17.49 euros per month over the entire term. Customers can also opt for a subscription with a one-time price of 99.99 euros, where the monthly subscription price is higher.
The laptops with Snapdragon-socs have a 4g modem on board and it was already known that providers would sell the laptops in combination with subscriptions. The NovaGo has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835-soc, last year’s high-end processor from the American designer.
It is obvious that other providers will also announce subscription prices for ARM laptops in the coming months. In addition to 4G support, these Always Connected PCs must also offer a long battery life. The laptops can run x86 programs via emulation.
