German manufacturer puts Ryzen 9 3950X desktop processor in 15.6″ gaming laptop
The German Schenker releases a 15.6 “game laptop with AMD’s Ryzen 9 3950X processor with sixteen cores. The manufacturer sets the CPU at a TDP of 65W. The XMG Apex 15 laptop is based on a barebone from Clevo and is on sale from the end of April.
Schenker uses a Clevo NH57AF1 chassis with AM4 socket for the XMG Apex 15 laptop. The laptop can be configured with different AMD CPUs, up to a maximum of the Ryzen 9 3950X. The housing has dimensions of 361x258x32.5mm and the whole weighs 2.6kg.
The manufacturer offers a configuration with Ryzen 9 3950X for at least 2096 euros. For that money, buyers get a 15.6″ FHD panel with a refresh rate of 144Hz, an RTX 2060 GPU, 8GB RAM and a 250GB SSD. The laptop can also be configured with an RTX 2070 GPU.
Schenker sets the tdp of the Ryzen 9 processor to 65W. That processor has a standard TDP of 105W. With the lower TDP, the heat production decreases, but the performance is also less. According to the manufacturer, the CPU in the laptop performs fifteen percent better than a Ryzen 9 3900, which is also set at 65W.
