Gelid releases low-profile AM4 processor cooler that fits in 1U housing

Gelid releases a compact cooler for the AM4 socket. Because the fan is incorporated in the cooling block, the height is 28mm. This means that the 19 euro cooler fits in a 1U housing.

According to Gelid, the Slim Silence AM4 cooler is suitable for cooling AMD Ryzen processors with a tdp of up to 85W, provided the case has good ventilation. The cooler is designed to allow placement in low-profile housings. As an example, the manufacturer cites HTPCs, PCs that are built into cars, and 1U servers.

The cooler has two integrated heat pipes and a fan with a diameter of 65mm and a thickness of 15mm, with a speed of 1200 to 2600rpm. The overall dimensions of the cooler are 101×74.5x28mm and the weight is 206 grams.

According to Gelid, the cooler is available for a suggested retail price of 19 euros, but web shops in the Pricewatch are not yet showing the compact cooler. Low coolers for the AM4 socket are rare; there is only one other copy in the Pricewatch that fits in a 1U case at the time of writing. Many more low coolers are available for Intel sockets.
