Ganimal — Transport your pets face onto other animals with AI
Imagine your Labrador’s smile on a lion or your cat’s creepy grin on a tiger. Such a jump is easy for people to make, with our memories full of images. But the same task was a tough challenge for computers – up to the GANimal.
A team of NVIDIA researchers have defined new AI techniques that give computers enough cleverness to see a photo of one animal and to imitate the expression and pose on the face of another being. The work is made possible in part by generative adversarial networks (GANs), an emerging AI technique that places one neural network opposite the other.
