Gaming smartphone Black Shark 2 Pro appears on Chinese market
The Chinese Black Shark, a company related to Xiaomi, has unveiled its new gaming smartphone Black Shark 2 Pro. The device has the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus soc on board and according to the makers, the touchscreen has the fastest touch response with 34.7 ms.
The Black Shark 2’s Magic Press feature is back, but it’s now called Master Touch 2.0. The feature is still similar to 3D Touch on Apple devices. A touch whereby a certain amount of pressure is exerted on a specific spot can be linked to, for example, a button that is normally on a controller. The display has a diagonal of 6.39 “and a resolution of 1080 by 2340 pixels. Furthermore, the screen is an amoled panel that can display the entire dci-p3 color space.
According to the makers, the Black Shark 2 Pro is the first device with a built-in DSP. It features ufs 3.0 storage, which can achieve faster read and write speeds. The 4000mAh battery can be charged with the supplied 27W charger, which supports Quick Charge 3.0. There is no 3.5mm audio output, but an adapter for the USB-C port is included.
On the software side, Black Shark has developed the Shark Space feature, which aggressively cleans up the RAM so that games can use it all the more. It is not known which version of Android the device is running on.
The variant of the Black Shark 2 Pro with 128GB storage space is for sale in China for 390 euros converted and the one with 256GB for 456 euros. Both models have 12GB of RAM. Two colors are available: Shadow black and Iceberg grey. The phones should “soon” appear in other markets, according to Black Shark. The smartphone maker also has a Nintendo Switch-esque accessory set for sale.
