Gamescom will hold its opening presentation on August 22
Gamescom will hold an Opening Night Live presentation on Tuesday, August 22, which will kick off the Gamescom trade show in Cologne. The gaming event will be broadcast live and hosted by gaming journalist and presenter Geoff Keighley.
Gamescom Opening Night Gaming Live will be broadcast from Cologne’s Koelnmesse exhibition center on August 22, writes Keighley on Twitter. The game journalist says he will broadcast live gaming news during the presentation, but does not share any concrete details. Keighley also does not mention a specific time. Last year’s opening show started at 8pm and lasted about two hours.
Opening presentations have been part of Gamescom since 2019. During the presentation, new games will be announced and trailers and release dates of previously announced games will be shown. Last year’s Opening Night Live presentation announced the PlayStation DualSense Edge and release dates for Hogwarts Legacy, Sonic Frontiers, New Tales from the Borderlands and Return to Monkey Island.
