Game hardware maker Mad Catz returns with new mice and keyboards
The Asian manufacturer of game products Mad Catz announces that it is making a restart after filing for bankruptcy at the beginning of last year. During the CES fair in Las Vegas, the manufacturer will present, among other things, new mice and keyboards.
Mad Catz Global Limited, as the Hong Kong-based company is now called, is under new management and, according to CNet, is owned by an undisclosed Chinese company. Mad Catz went bankrupt in March of last year. Previous reorganisations had insufficient effect and investors turned off the money tap. The collapsed sales of Rock Band accessories, among other things, caused sales declines.
Mad Cat now returns to the market with brand names it was previously known for. For example, Rat Air and RAT Pro X3 mice, Strike 4 keyboards, Freq 4 headsets and Glide mouse pads appear. The RAT Air has an optical sensor with a sensitivity of 12,000 dpi. The mouse works in combination with a mat that has to be connected to the system via USB and then provides the mouse with power wirelessly, just like the Logitech Powerplay mat. However, the mouse does not have a battery and can function separately wired. The mouse also has ten programmable buttons and an adjustable grip.
In total, the comeback is accompanied by the release of eight mice, two keyboards, two headsets, of which the ES Pro consists of earplugs with microphone, and several mouse pads. The company will be showing the products at CES 2018, which will take place next week in Las Vegas.
