Game Freak Is Working On Full Pokémon RPG For Nintendo Switch
Game Freak, the Japanese developer of Pokémon games, is working on a full-fledged Pokémon RPG for Nintendo Switch. In recent years, such games appeared only for Nintendo’s handhelds.
Nintendo briefly announced the arrival of the Pokémon RPG during its E3 presentation. No information about the game has been released yet, only that it will be more than a year before the game comes out.
At the end of last year, Eurogamer announced that Game Freak is working on a project codenamed Pokémon Stars. That would be a Switch version of Pokémon Sun and Moon, the game currently available for the 3DS. It is not clear whether the announced game is about that project.
Last week, Nintendo announced that Pókken Tournament Deluxe will be released for the Switch on September 22. That’s a game that came out for the Nintedo Wii U. It’s a fighting game with Pokémon, but not a full-fledged RPG, like the Pokémon games that appeared on the Gameboy and DS handhelds in recent years.
