Galaxy smartphones get Samsung One UI with long screen optimizations

Samsung is going to put a new interface on Galaxy smartphones from next year. It is called One UI and is aimed at long screens, with buttons on the bottom half of the screen.

The One UI takes long screens into account by only putting content on the top half that users only need to see, the manufacturer announced at its own Developer Conference in San Francisco. All popups and controls are at the bottom, making them easier for users to access.

In addition, there are new color schemes in it. Themes have the same color accents as the devices themselves, so the interface and hardware will be in the same color scheme. The entire interface can switch to dark mode after sunset to make it more comfortable to use in the evening and at night. In addition, the interface has more contrast and simpler icons to make clearer what certain apps are or what toggles do.

Samsung will release a beta of One UI in November in Germany, but also in the United States and South Korea. A test version for other countries will then follow. An upgrade with One UI for the Galaxy S9, S9+ and Note 9 is coming early next year.
