Galaxy S6 will get Microsoft apps pre-installed
Samsung intends to pre-install various Microsoft apps on the Galaxy S6, Sammobile reports. OneNote, OneDrive, Skype and Office Mobile are part of a further stripped-down Android version on the new device, according to the rumor site.
According to Sammobile, the arrival of Microsoft apps on Samsung’s upcoming high-end device may be the result of a suitable patent case between the two companies. In addition, Microsoft has started to focus more on making its online services available on Android, among other things, because Windows Phone barely manages to gain market share. In addition to the installation of OneNote, OneDrive, Skype and Office Mobile on the S6, Samsung would, according to previous rumors, omit a large part of its own apps in order to offer the most bare-bones Android version.
Sammobile further reports that Samsung’s TouchWiz interface on the S6 would run considerably smoother than on the Galaxy Note 4 thanks to further optimizations. There would also be more theming options, the layout of icons in the app drawer is more flexible and various parts have a received a new design.
