‘Galaxy Buds+ get a bigger battery but no active noise cancellation’
Samsung was going to release a new version of the wireless Galaxy Buds earbuds and SamMobile was rumored to support active noise cancellation last month. The same site now reports that this will not be the case after all.
According to SamMobile, the new Galaxy Buds+ earbuds will be introduced at the Unpacked event next month on February 11, but the website reports that they will not support active noise cancellation. SamMobile claims to base that information on reliable sources. The design would not differ much from the current Galaxy Buds, where Samsung would have made improvements in the field of sound quality.
Another point that could have been improved is the capacity of the built-in battery. The original Galaxy Buds have a 58mAh battery, but the new Galaxy Buds+ would go way beyond that with a battery capacity of 85mAh, with which they should last about twelve hours on a single charge.
In addition, SamMobile states that Samsung has done something about the complaints of Galaxy Buds users about the quality of calls. To this end, the successors will receive four microphones, a doubling compared to the current earbuds. Samsung has not commented on the new information nor the earlier rumor.
It is also likely that the new earphones will be included as an accessory when purchasing or pre-ordering, for example, the Galaxy S20 smartphones; Samsung also gave the Galaxy Buds at the time to those who had placed a pre-order for the Galaxy S10 and they are also included with the Galaxy Fold. At the February 11 event, Samsung is likely to show the successors to the Galaxy S10 phones, which are expected to be referred to as the Galaxy S20.
