G.Skill announces first DDR5-8400 memory modules
G.Skill will release DDR5 memory at the end of October that can achieve speeds of up to 8400 megatransfers per second. As far as we know, G.Skill is the first manufacturer to release such DDR5-8400 memory modules. A suggested retail price has not yet been announced.
The memory maker says that the memory achieves speeds with CL latencies of 40-52-52-134 and supports Intel XMP 3.0 overclocking profiles. The memory will fall under the Trident Z5 RGB series and is supplied as a set of two 24GB modules. In a benchmark with Intel Core i9-14900K processor, the memory achieves read speeds of almost 129GB/s and write speeds of 127GB/s.
In addition to the memory kit that will be commercially available, G.Skill talks about overclocked memory with speeds of up to 8600MT/s. This would have been achieved with cl latencies of 40-54-54-136. This memory would have achieved read and write speeds of over 130GB/s on the same test platform. It is not known if and when G.Skill will sell this memory.
