G.Skill and Corsair announce DDR5 dimms especially for AM5

Both G.Skill and Corsair are announcing new DDR5 modules targeting AMD’s new Ryzen 7000 CPUs. The dimm’s support AMD EXPO, which will make overclocking easier according to AMD.

G.Skill announces the Trident Z5 Neo and the Flare X5 series. Both series offer different dimms of both DDR5-5600 and DDR5-6000. Anyone who also wants RGB lighting is limited to the Trident dimms. The intention is that G.Skill DDR5 RAM for AM5 will be available from next month.

Also Corsair announces that it has developed DDR5 modules for AM5. Corsair’s memory will be overclockable with AMD EXPO. These are new versions of the Dominator Platinum and Vengeance series. Corsair also says that the new DDR5 memory modules offer 6000 mega transfers per second. Prices have not yet been announced.

During the announcement of the new AMD CPUs, it was already announced that the 7000 series will only support DDR5. If you want to switch to the latest generation of CPUs from AMD, you must therefore also switch to DDR5 memory. There will be no variant that will support DDR4 according to AMD.
