Future Soldier and Trials: Evolution Drive Ubisoft Sales

Publisher Ubisoft has announced that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Trials: Evolution led to an increase in sales in the spring. In the months of April, May and June, turnover was 27.2 percent higher than in the same quarter last year.

While Ubisoft’s quarterly turnover in the spring of 2011 was still 103 million euros, the French company recorded 131 million euros in the past quarter, good for an increase of 27.2 percent and considerably more than the 115 million euros turnover that was initially expected. Ubisoft points Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and downloadable game Trials: Evolution as drivers of increased sales.

According to the publisher, the sales figures of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier far exceeded expectations. The game was the top-selling console game in the United States during the months of May and June. Trials: Evolution, in turn, broke the Xbox Live Arcade record for the number of copies sold on its first day of sale. On the day the game became available, Trials: Evolution was instantly downloaded more than 100,000 times.

While quarterly revenue came in ahead of expectations, Ubisoft sees no reason to adjust expectations for the full fiscal year 2012-2013. The company expects to achieve a total turnover of between 1.16 and 1.2 billion euros. Titles such as Ghost Recon Online, Far Cry 3 and Assassin’s Creed III should generate this revenue.
