Future President Trump asks Apple to make devices in the US

Future US President Donald Trump has asked Apple CEO Tim Cook to move production of iPhones, iPads and MacBooks from China to the United States. That should create a lot of jobs.

Trump thinks Apple will grant his wish, because he wants to cut taxes for companies significantly. It is unknown what exactly the Apple CEO said. Trump claims in a conversation with the New York Times that Cook only said “I understand.”

The Republican’s question shouldn’t come as a surprise, because he made it an election promise that if he won, he would bring jobs back to the United States. A tax cut in combination with a reduction in the number of rules should achieve this.

It is unknown how many jobs it would create if Apple moved its factories to the United States. According to 9to5 Mac, especially robots would assemble the devices, so that there will not be as many jobs as Trump now thinks. Due to the higher cost of manufacturing in the United States, Apple devices would cost between $30 and $40.
