Full specs of canceled Surface Mini leaked
Specifications and renders have been released of the Surface Mini, a small version of the Microsoft tablet, which never appeared on the market. The tablet would have a 7.5″ screen and run Windows RT 8.1.
The information is by smartphone savvy Evan Blass on Twitter shared. The tablet would have a Qualcomm MSM8974-soc, better known as the Snapdragon 800, and come in a variant with 1GB ram and 32GB storage capacity or 2GB ram and 64GB of storage. The screen would have a resolution of 1080×1440 pixels, spread over a 7.5″ diagonal. It would also be equipped with a micro SD card connection, a micro USB port, a 3.5 mm audio connection and a connection for the cover.
Microsoft was said to have had plans to announce the Surface Mini in May 2014, but canceled the announcement at the last minute. The device would not have been distinctive enough, according to the company.
Last June, some images of a prototype of the tablet appeared. The images showed the soft layer on the back, fairly wide screen bezels and how the cover could act as a kickstand.
