Fujifilm shows off X-A7 system camera with 24-megapixel sensor and 4k video function
Fujifilm has presented a new system camera with a new 24-megapixel sensor. The X-A7 can record 4k videos at 30fps. The camera will be released in the fall for $700 including lens. This is converted and including VAT about 770 euros.
The Fujifilm X-A7 will succeed the X-A5 and has a new aps-c sensor with a resolution of 24.3 megapixels. This sensor contains 425 phase-detection autofocus points, 8.5 times more than its predecessor. The X-A7 can record 15 minutes of continuous 4k video at 30 frames per second, while the X-A5 can only record 4k footage at 15fps. The new camera can also record full-HD videos at 60fps for thirty minutes. The X-A7 can take six photos per second, just like its predecessor.
In addition, the screen of the X-A7 can be folded out by 180 degrees. This concerns an LCD with a screen diagonal of 3.5 “with 2.76 million pixels. There is no built-in viewfinder. The X-A7 also has a USB-C connector with which the camera can be charged, among other things. also equipped with a 3.5 mm jack for a microphone. There is no connection for headphones. The X-A7 has a single SD card slot near the battery. The whole weighs 320 grams without lens.
The X-A7 uses an NP-W126S battery. According to Fujifilm, the battery lasts about 440 photos when fully charged. The iso range of the X-A7 is between 200 and 12800. This can be expanded to a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 51200 iso.
The X-A7 comes with the XC15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens. This lens was already supplied with the X-A5. It is not known whether the camera will also go on sale without a lens. The camera will be released in the United States on October 24. A release date for Europe is still unknown.
The XA series cameras do not contain an X-Trans sensor. Instead, they contain more standard CMOS sensors with Bayerfilter. The X-Trans sensors are reserved for Fuji’s higher-position mirrorless cameras, such as the XT and XE series. Fujifilm’s medium format cameras also use Bayer format sensors.
