Frontier Developments Announces F1 Manager 2022 for Summer This Year

Frontier Developments announces the new game F1 Manager 2022. The game will be released this summer for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Series X and S and for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

In F1 Manager 2022, players take on the role of the team leader of a Formula 1 team, says Frontier Developments in a blog post. Unlike ‘regular’ F1 games, this game focuses on the strategic aspect of motorsport; players do not actually drive the race car. The British developer promises a “360-degree perspective of the team, including the car, upgrades, factories, contracts and budgets”. The first teaser trailer consists entirely of pre-rendered footage and does not show any gameplay yet.

F1 Manager 2022 is the first modern licensed game built around managing an F1 team. An official mobile game under the name F1 Manager was released in 2018. In mid-2020 the name of this game was changed to F1 Clash and still exists in that capacity.

In addition, F1 Manager 2022 is the first sports game from Frontier Developements. The developer created some parts and console ports in the RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise, two Jurassic World Evolution games, and titles such as Elite: Dangerous, Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo, among others.
