FromSoftware fixes bug in PS5 version Elden Ring that caused failed saves
FromSoftware has fixed a bug in the PS5 version of Elden Ring. The bug led to failed saves when the PS5 unexpectedly shuts down or goes to sleep. The developer has also released a patch for the Windows version of the game.
Update 1.02.2 has been available since Wednesday for the PS5 and Windows version of Elden Ring. With the PS5 version, saves are preserved, even if the console goes into sleep mode or shuts down. The patch for the PC version has fixed several bugs, reports the game’s official Twitter page† In one of the bugs, the video card was not used, resulting in slow game performance. Another bug allowed the game to suddenly shut down while fighting a particular boss.
Publisher Bandai Namco was aware of the bugs last week and promised that a patch would be released soon. Until then, the publisher advised PS5 users to quit the game via the menu so they could be sure no saves would be lost.
Elden Ring is the latest game from FromSoftware, known for games such as Demons’ Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The game was released on February 25, 2022 for Windows, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
