French game distributor Innelec presented its annual figures, stating that the upgraded version of the PlayStation 4, also known as the PlayStation 4.5 or ‘Neo’, would be released between June and September. However, Innelec now states that it has no information about the release.

Various sources reported on Friday that the improved PlayStation 4 would be released in those months based on Innelec’s information. The distributor had announced in its annual figures that the ‘PlayStation Neo 4k’, as the company referred to it, would be released in the first half of its next financial year. That would mean that this happens sometime between June and September.

However, the company issued a statement in response to the news, saying that “it is possible that there are developments regarding the PlayStation 4, but no information of this nature exists at this time.” It remains unclear why Innelec has included this information in its annual figures report.

In previous reports, the Giant Bomb site reported that the improved version of the PlayStation 4 would have a better processor and GPU, and that the device will upscale games to 4k resolution. The term ‘Neo’ was used for the first time in this message. So far, however, Sony has not released any confirmation of rumours.
