Free Top Gun: Maverick Expansion for Flight Simulator Coming May 25
The free Top Gun expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 will be released on May 25. The expansion was announced a year ago and was initially expected to be released in November 2021, but that was later postponed.
Microsoft Confirms Top Gun: Maverick Expansion Release Date on Twitter. The release falls slightly earlier than that of the film of the same name, which appears in cinemas on May 27. Microsoft previously reported that the release of the Flight Simulator expansion and the movie would roughly coincide. However, there was not yet an official and concrete release date.
The Top Gun expansion was announced in June last year at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase. The free DLC includes fighter planes from the movie. Developer Asobo has not yet confirmed which aircraft will be included in the expansion, although it is known that players can fly in Tom Cruise’s jet fighter. An earlier trailer also showed images of an American aircraft carrier.
