Fractal Design releases Meshify 2 enclosures with detachable top
Fractal Design releases its Meshify 2 enclosures. They are variants of the Define 7, but with more emphasis on airflow instead of silence. The panel at the top can be detached, which should make installing components easier.
According to Fractal Design, the Meshify 2 enclosures have a sturdy construction and a versatile design. The regular Meshify 2 can accommodate motherboards of up to the eATX format, while the XL versions also fit SSI-CEB and SSI-EEB server motherboards of up to 330x305mm.
The enclosures are similar to the Define 7 enclosures, but the Meshify series focuses on airflow. The front consists of a mesh panel that allows air to pass through. Behind the panel is a dust filter that can be removed to further increase the airflow.
The top panel of the housing can be completely detached, so that the housing can be opened from three sides during the installation of components. The front panel has three USB connections including a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C variant.
In the cabinet there is room for a total of nine 120mm or 140mm fans. Fractal Design includes three of its Dynamic X2 GP-14 fans. Tom’s Hardware and Hexus, among others, have published reviews of the new housing.
Fractal Design offers a variant of the Meshify 2 with closed side panels for a suggested retail price of 133 euros. Versions with a tempered glass panel cost 143 euros and are available with clear, light-tinted and dark-tinted glass. The large Meshify 2 XL version costs 182 euros and is available with light and dark tinted glass.
