Fossil shows off Razer edition of Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch
Fossil is coming later this month with a Razer X Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch, a modified version of its watch released last year. In addition, a new Skagen Falster smartwatch with Snapdragon Wear 4100+ chip will be released in the same period.
The September Razer edition of the watch offers cosmetic changes only. For example, it contains three Razer-themed watch faces, the Chroma plate of which has customizable RGB lighting. The smartwatch comes with two interchangeable straps, including one in Razer green.
On the inside, it’s a standard Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch, meaning it runs Wear OS 2.0 and uses a Snapdragon Wear 4100+ chip. Like the normal version, it has a 1.28″ OLED screen with 416×416 pixels, a 44mm housing and Bluetooth 5.0 support. The Fossil Gen 6 should get an update to Wear OS 3.0 later this year. $329 in a limited edition of 1,337 pieces available.
In addition, Fossil announced the Skagen Falster Gen 6 smartwatch. This is the first watch in this line with the 4100+ soc. Thanks to this chip, the clock has a lower energy consumption, according to Fossil, which ensures that the Skagen Falster Gen 6, just like the Fossil Gen 6, lasts long enough to be used as a sleep tracker. The battery should be eighty percent full again within half an hour of charging. The clock also has a 42mm housing and an SpO₂ sensor. This watch currently also runs on Wear OS 2.0, but should receive an update to 3.0 later this year. The Skagen Falster Gen 6 has a suggested retail price of $295 in America. A price for the Benelux has not yet been announced.
