Fossil launches second watch in Gen 6 line with E Ink screen
Watchmaker Fossil has announced the Gen 6 Hybrid Wellness. Unlike other watches in the Gen 6 line, the clock does not run Wear OS and also has an E Ink screen. Because of these changes, the watch should last two weeks on a battery charge.
Compared to last year’s standard Gen 6 Hybrid, the Wellness version has received several options for tracking, such as a way to monitor heart rate zones, said Fossil. Much is also the same: the clocks both have mechanical hands and a 1.1″ E Ink screen with 240×240 pixels.
The watch has a case of 44mm and is 11.4mm thick. Fossil’s proprietary software can show notifications and also sync things like the calendar. Installing apps on the clock is not possible with the software. However, it is compatible with iPhones and Android phones. The Gen 6 Hybrid Wellness Edition will be released this week. Fossil has not yet announced the price.
