Fortnite players can get free in-game content by watching YouTube videos. Maker Epic has partnered with the video streaming platform where players can watch special live videos to earn “Drops”.

‘Drops’ is also the name of the new feature that Epic announces. Users can watch Fortnite events such as matches at certain times. The company is mainly referring to the world tournament that takes place next week, but items can also be earned by watching other events. The company previously did something similar on Twitch, but now it can also be done on YouTube.

Users need to link their Epic account to their YouTube account to do this. They then have to watch the events for at least twenty minutes to earn a ‘Drop’. Those Drops are sprays that have been specially designed for the events. Users can get them when they watch the three World Cup Finals, taking place July 26, 27 and 28, or the premiere of Game Jam Hollywood, a documentary about a secret Fortnite event. It will be broadcast the day before the finals. According to Epic, more Drops will be released in the coming months.
