Fortnite lets users merge accounts
Users who have two Fortnite accounts can now merge them, allowing sharing of V-Bucks and cosmetic items, among other things. A number of people have two accounts because the PlayStation 4 version did not work with other platforms before.
The option for the so-called account merge can be found on the website of publisher Epic Games, which also explains the conditions. Merging is possible between an account created on a Playstation 4 and an account used on an Xbox One or Nintendo Switch. Also, the PlayStation 4 account must have been used before September 28 of last year.
Users can choose which of the two accounts they want to keep as their primary account. Merging the accounts allows users to share their purchased V-Bucks or cosmetic items, among other things. However, the stuff will be held for two weeks after the merge before it becomes available to the user, and Epic Games states that not all the stuff will transfer.
A number of users have created two accounts, one specifically for the PlayStation 4, because it could not work with the other supported platforms at launch. As a result, PlayStation 4 users could only play against each other. At the end of September this came to an end, after Sony granted permission.
