Frost Giant Studios has announced Stormgate. That is a free-to-play real-time strategy game set in the future. The game is made in Unreal Engine 5 and can be played alone, against each other or in co-op. A beta should start next year.

Stormgate has been announced with a cinematic trailer, showing no gameplay. On a Steam page there are some screenshots of an alpha version. The strategy game takes place during a war between humanity and aliens. More factions will become available, but they have not yet been announced. The game will have both casual and competitive pvp online modes and co-op capabilities. The game also gets an editor.

The game is made by Frost Giant Studios; a studio made up of veterans who worked on Warcraft and StarCraft games at Blizzard. The studio was founded by Tim Morten and Tim Campbell. They got it early this year $25 million in investments to create “the next great RTS game for the PC.”

In the trailer, the team announces that players can sign up for a beta on playstormgate.com, which should start in 2023. At the time of writing, the website is not available because of the large influx. The details of the revenue model have not yet been revealed, but it is stated on Steam that it will not be possible to get an advantage by paying.
