Former BioWare CEO is working on new sci-fi game with his own studio

Former BioWare general manager Casey Hudson has revealed that he is working on a new sci-fi game. Hudson worked on Mass Effect, among others, and after he left BioWare, he set up his own studio called Humanoid Studios.

Humanoid Studios isn’t revealing many details about its upcoming game just yet. On the website can only be read that it is a ‘multiplatform AAA game’, with a focus on a strong story and characters in a completely new sci-fi universe. Hudson has the necessary experience with these types of games, having been closely involved in the development of Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect trilogy at BioWare.

Not only Hudson has left Bioware. Over the past few years, several key figures with a lot of experience have left the studio. At the end of last year, the creative director of Dragon Age 4, Matt Goldman, announced his departure. While it’s not uncommon for developers to move to other studios over time, the departure of the number of key employees at BioWare is noteworthy.

According to BioWare, Dragon Age 4 is still in development. No release date has been announced for the game yet, although there are rumors that a 2023 release is planned. A new Mass Effect has also been announced, but there is still no detail about it.
