Ford presents crib that simulates car journeys to help baby fall asleep
Ford has developed a cot that simulates car journeys to help babies fall asleep more easily. Via a smartphone app, the crib can simulate the movement of a moving car, the engine noise and the effect of street lighting.
The crib is called Max Motor Dreams and works via a smartphone app. Via the app, a parent with a smartphone can record the car movements while driving and record the car sound, after which this can be reproduced in the crib. To mimic the effect of street lighting, LED lights have been placed all around the inside of the crib.
At the moment it is still a prototype. Ford says it has received many positive reactions and is considering taking the cradle into production. According to the automaker, there is a need for such a product. Ford refers to a report about a study that would show that new parents miss about 44 days of sleep in the first year of their baby because the little one keeps them awake too much.
