Automaker Ford has recalled eighteen of its electric F-150 Lightning trucks due to the risk of a battery defect. Production of the vehicles was paused for weeks after a battery caught fire, but will resume on Monday, according to the manufacturer.

“Production will resume on Monday with a clean supply of batteries,” Ford said in a statement The Verge and Reuters Overwrite. The recall of the eighteen F-150 trucks is expected to be published next week. According to the manufacturer, the ‘root cause’ of the problem was at a factory of South Korean battery manufacturer SK On in Georgia, but no further information was provided.

The eighteen trucks being recalled are believed to contain battery cells from a four-week production period that began late last year. The battery that caught fire during an inspection on February 4 was part of this production period. However, according to SK On, the defect is very rare and not a ‘fundamental problem’. Ford says it is replacing the batteries of these eighteen trucks just to be on the safe side, even though no other battery incidents have been reported.

The F-150 Lightning has been in production for about a year, and Ford has been selling the truck for a while. It is the electric version of Ford’s most important model for the American market. The F-150 has been one of the best-selling car models in the country for decades.
